Firstly to begin adding a condition, create a new or edit an existing conversation. Once viewing the conversation you can drag and drop a condition from the right side menu. Once the condition is dropped into a suitable place on the timeline you will be presented with the type of condition you wish to ask in a menu on the right side of your screen.

Now select, 'Previous question and answer' from the menu. You should now see the fields and options possible to fill in for this condition type.

The first option is which conversation's questions/answers are you wanting to base your condition from, select the conversation by clicking on the dropdown box and clicking on the desired conversation. The process is for selecting the question within the selected conversation, clicking the dropdown box. Please note, only single answer, multiple answer and image choice question types are possible to base this condition on.

Now that both the conversations and questions have been selected you will see a list of answer options, you can select which answer(s) you want for this condition by clicking the checkbox next to the corresponding answer.

Once these fields and options are all completed, press the pink 'Save' button at the bottom of this menu. This will add your condition into the place within the timeline where you dragged and dropped it to and affect the elements (questions, messages and other conditions) below it.

Extra option: Skip if unansweredย

Normally the Previous Question and Answer Condition will skip and continue when a respondent answer the selected question for the condition. This could be the case when the selected question is from a different conversation for example. This option is enabled by default and we would recommend you to keep this enabled if you are unsure.

But sometimes the selected question will be pushed and answered later on purpose. If you uncheck the Skip if unanswered option it will keep waiting until the question is answered and only continue the flow after it has revalidated the condition.
